Metal Swarf Briquette Press Machine
More efficient swarf recycling by reducing swarf volume by up to 90% and increasing it’s recycling value by up to 40%.
Briquetting press
The briquetting presses can work on metal chips such as steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, bronze, but also on polymeric and wooden chips. The processing of the metal chips fully complies with the recycling policy of the materials, thereby improving operating conditions and cleaning the working environment.
The briquetting press is able to simplify the recovery of the chips and increase the value thereof. Reduce the volume of your chips with our Briquetting press up to 85%!
The metal chip briquetter processes short, loose chips from machining of non-ferrous or ferrous metals and cast iron into cylindrical briquettes.
Press metal chips into solid briquettes to achieve financial benefits through improved smelting and simpler waste management
The metal chip briquetter processes short, loose chips from machining of non-ferrous or ferrous metals and cast iron into cylindrical briquettes. The briquetter with closed dies are designed for ferrous metals and cast iron. It produces cylindrical briquettes, of a diameter from 60-80 mm and length up to 150 mm . With an inlet hopper, conveyor, sorting machine and material level sensor the briquetting press operation can be fully automated.
Technicl desription of metal chip briquetter
Short metal chips are screw fed or pressed in to a chamber where the compressing takes place in a cylindrical die. There are two cylinders in the press the first are filling the chamber, and the second is compressing the chips into dense briquettes. The pressing method ensures high, uniform material and uniform material compaction. The briquetting press is optional equipped with 200 dm3 hopper, with a vibrator and oil cooler. The metal chip briquetter is perfect for briquetting of short swarf of light metals of type aluminium. The briquetter is equipped with a bunker of 1-5 m³ depending on requested specification. The bunker is fed by a truck, skip hoist or a conveyor. The bunker has two arms with cutters which are rotating in the bunker and feeds the swarf into an inlet channel with screw which forwards the swarf to the press chamber. The briquetter is pressing with a pressure of 83 MPa (1200 psi) and produces briquettes with a diameter of 60 - 80 -100 -120 -150 mm .
- Savings in factory floor-space
- Savings in internal and external transportation costs
- Savings in coolants
- Increase the waste purchase price
- No leaking chips, no need for coolant collectors around stocking place
Technology behind the briquetting press
Generates big savings
- Volume
- The briquetting process provides significant space savings for the storage of the chips and a significant saving for material handling.
- Recovery
- During the compaction, the cutting oil present in the chips is recovered and reused with considerable benefits for the company.
- Economic value
- Furthermore, the briquetted chips are subject to a lower oxidation. This results in a higher yield of the briquette in the ovens, resulting in an increase in the economic value of the material.
The benefit from making metal briquette
- Briquetting increases the value of you metal chips and turns them into an ongoing income stream.
- Briquetted material helps alleviate any potential cross contamination with other materials.
- Briquettes are almost free of CNC coolant compared with loose metal chips and don’t leak coolant during transportation around the factory or en route to the recycler.
- Briquetters eliminate the need for drying racks or centrifugal dryers, removing a costly handling process.
- Transportation, handling and storage costs are lowered as a result of the volume reduction achieved through briquetting.
- Machine briquette counters allow you to accurately monitor the amount of scrap being produced.
- Briquetting your swarf allows a substantially more localised and tidy storage of your scrap, thus reducing your occupational health and safety risks.
